Dual Enrollment is an exciting program that empowers eligible high school juniors and seniors to embark on an academic journey that not only enhances their high school education but also accelerates their college experience. By participating in Dual Enrollment program, students have the unique opportunity to earn both high school and college credits concurrently, providing them with a head start in their educational pursuits.
Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher, demonstrating their commitment to academic excellence.
Achieve an ACT composite score of 18 or better (or SAT equivalent), showcasing their readiness for college-level coursework.
Attend a school informational meeting with a parent or guardian, or have a one-on-one meeting with our dedicated Dual Enrollment Coordinator. This ensures that students and their families are well-informed about the program.
Complete the "Intent to Dual Enroll" form to express your desire to participate in the program officially.
APPLICATION PROCESS
After meeting these initial requirements, a guidance review will determine if a student is eligible for Dual Enrollment. Once eligibility is confirmed, students and their parents or guardians must sign a student participation agreement form. This agreement signifies a mutual understanding of the responsibilities students will undertake during their participation in the Dual Enrollment program.
ACADEMIC OVERSIGHT
All Dual Enrollment classes must receive approval from our dedicated Dual Enrollment Coordinator. Students are also required to maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) throughout their enrollment.
MAINTAINING ELIGIBILITY
To ensure that Dual Enrollment students remain eligible, it is crucial that they demonstrate a strong commitment to their coursework. Consistently failing to attend classes, complete assignments, or engage academically may result in ineligibility for Dual Enrollment courses in the subsequent semester.
Our local Dual Enrollment college partners include Georgia Southern, East Georgia, and Ogeechee Tech. In addition, students have the option to explore online programs with Truett McConnell and Toccoa Falls.
All summer Dual Enrollment classes are conducted in person on campus. Online options are not permitted during the summer term.
Please note that students cannot begin their first Dual Enrollment class during the summer term.
